Essential federal workers are missing paychecks right now. They’re figuring out how to pay their rent, and in some cases, relying on the generosity of others the keep their families fed.
Meanwhile, Congress keeps collecting salaries — and New Jersey’s senior senator is nowhere to be found.
That’s unacceptable.
As your next senator, I will push for a simple rule: no member of Congress gets paid, and no congressional office is funded, until every federal worker receives every dollar they’re owed. We can’t play political games with people’s paychecks. The politicians who caused this problem shouldn’t get paid until they fix it.
It’s simple: New Jerseyans don’t get paid for work they don’t do. Congress shouldn’t either.
